Kriti Sanon’s latest Raksha Bandhan advertisement has sparked a social media debate over her outfit, and Kangana Ranaut has now joined the conversation. The advertisement for jewellery brand GIVA features Kriti in an off-white outfit with a bralette-style blouse, cape and draped skirt. While some viewers criticised the styling for a traditional festival campaign, Kangana took the criticism further by calling the advertisement “intentionally creepy.”

The Ad Sparks Backlash

The GIVA campaign was released for Raksha Bandhan and featured Kriti in a contemporary take on traditional Indian clothing. The styling quickly became a talking point online, with some users questioning whether the outfit suited a campaign centred around the festival.

Kangana Calls Out The Styling

Kangana shared her reaction on Instagram Stories, questioning why Kriti would choose such an outfit while tying a Rakhi to her brother. She argued that women today have a wide range of clothing choices and questioned the decision to use a more revealing look for a Raksha Bandhan campaign.

Kriti Has Yet To Respond

Kriti Sanon has not publicly responded to the criticism surrounding the advertisement or Kangana’s comments so far.

The Debate Goes Beyond One Outfit

The controversy has also opened up a wider conversation about how traditional festivals are represented in advertising. While some viewers expect campaigns around festivals to maintain a conventional aesthetic, others see contemporary styling as simply another way of presenting Indian celebrations.

KnowBuddys Take

The ad was clearly designed to make people look twice, and it did exactly that. Whether the styling was bold, unnecessary or simply modern depends on how you see festival advertising. But one thing is certain: Kangana’s reaction has made the campaign an even bigger talking point.
