Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is finding it difficult to maintain momentum at the Hindi box office. The film collected an estimated Rs 2.75 crore nett on Wednesday, marking a 30 per cent drop from the previous day and taking its eight-day Hindi total to approximately Rs 125.75 crore nett.

1. Toxic sees another weekday drop

After collecting around Rs 4.50 crore on Tuesday, Toxic slipped further on Wednesday. The film’s estimated Rs 2.75 crore nett haul represents a 30 per cent decline, indicating that its weekday momentum remains weak.

2. Hindi collection crosses Rs 125 crore

With Wednesday’s numbers included, the Yash-led action gangster drama has reached around Rs 125.75 crore nett in Hindi after eight days. While crossing the Rs 125 crore mark is a milestone, the pace is considerably lower than what would be expected from a big-ticket Yash release.

3. A massive opening couldn’t translate into sustained growth

Toxic opened strongly in Hindi, collecting around Rs 50 crore on Day 1 according to Pinkvilla’s trade estimates. However, the film witnessed significant drops after its opening, with the extended five-day weekend ending at around Rs 113.50 crore nett in Hindi.

4. Audience reception remains a major challenge

Trade analysis attributes the sharp decline to the film’s reception among audiences. The film initially benefited from its huge opening-day anticipation, but collections weakened considerably once word of mouth came into play.

5. Toxic faces stronger competition ahead

The arrival of Mirzapur: The Movie is expected to put further pressure on Toxic at the box office. With the new theatrical release entering the market, the Yash-starrer could see its screen share and daily collections squeezed further.

6. Lifetime Hindi collection may settle around Rs 140 crore

Toxic is expected to finish its Hindi theatrical run at around Rs 140 crore nett. Another trade analysis has placed its likely lifetime range slightly higher, around Rs 145–148 crore, highlighting the uncertainty around its final run.

7. Yash’s next big release is already lined up

Toxic marks Yash’s return to the big screen after a four-year gap. His next major project is Ramayana, which is scheduled for a grand theatrical release during Diwali 2026.

KnowBuddys Take

From a Rs 50 crore opening day to Rs 2.75 crore on Day 8, that’s quite the box-office slide.

Toxic clearly had the star power and opening-day curiosity, but sustaining that momentum has proved to be the real challenge. With Mirzapur: The Movie now entering theatres, the Yash-starrer has an even tougher road ahead.

Big opening? Yes. Long legs? Not quite.
