Not every song is meant to become a hit, and Amaal Mallik seems to have made peace with that. The composer-singer has opened up about how he deals with songs that fail to connect with audiences, saying he doesn’t overthink their performance because several factors beyond the music can influence a song’s success.

Amaal Doesn’t Take Song Failures Personally

Amaal said he has realised that there are bigger factors involved in determining whether a song works with listeners. Instead of taking every unsuccessful song as a personal failure, he prefers to focus on his creative journey.

He Only Reconsiders When It Feels Personal

According to Amaal, he would think more deeply about a song if the music video features him and it fails to connect with audiences. In that situation, he feels there could be something he needs to understand or improve about his own approach.

The Focus Is Still On Making Good Music

Rather than constantly chasing numbers, Amaal appears more interested in creating music that he believes in. His approach is to make the song, let it find its audience and move forward instead of allowing one result to define his creative process.

Yeh Awarapan Is His Latest Film Song

Amaal is currently in the spotlight for composing Yeh Awarapan, featured in Awarapan 2 starring Emraan Hashmi. The song adds another chapter to his long association with Hindi film music.

KnowBuddys Take

Not every song can be a chartbuster, and Amaal seems to know that better than most. The ability to make something, let it go and keep creating without obsessing over the numbers might actually be the healthiest way to survive the music industry.
