Imagine shooting your shot…And getting ghosted by Erling Haaland. Now imagine you’re Tom Holland. Yep. Even Spider-Man isn’t immune to being left on read. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tom hilariously revealed that he once sent Erling Haaland a direct message inviting him to hang out after spotting the football star at the Monaco Grand Prix. The result? Absolutely nothing. “Not even a response.”
Tom Really Thought He Had A Chance
Tom explained that after seeing Haaland at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, he decided to “shoot his shot” and send the Manchester City striker a message. No elaborate plan. No celebrity flex. Just a simple invitation to meet up. Unfortunately…The message stayed unanswered.
Haaland Had The Funniest Reason
Turns out, Haaland wasn’t trying to be rude. The Norwegian footballer later admitted he didn’t recognise Tom Holland and thought the message had come from a random person because he doesn’t really watch movies. Honestly…That’s one way to accidentally ghost Spider-Man.
Tom Took It Like A Champ
Instead of getting offended, Tom laughed the whole thing off. He called the experience “humbling,” praised Haaland as an “absolute legend,” and even joked that after England knocked Norway out of the World Cup, dinner probably wasn’t happening anytime soon.
Know Buddys Take
Here’s the tea. This story proves one universal truth. No matter how famous you are… There’s always someone who has absolutely no idea who you are. Tom Holland got left on read. By Erling Haaland. If Spider-Man can get ghosted…The rest of us never stood a chance.
