Just when you thought Shahid Kapoor’s schedule couldn’t get any busier…Reports say he’s already lining up his next big-screen entertainer. After wrapping up Cocktail 2 and juggling Farzi Season 2, Shahid Kapoor is reportedly set to begin shooting Amit Ravindranath Sharma’s upcoming comedy, Adal Badal, this October. And if the title didn’t already give it away, this one is expected to be a full-on soul-swap comedy.
A Soul-Swap Comedy? Say Less.
According to reports, Adal Badal revolves around the classic body/soul-swap concept—a genre Bollywood hasn’t explored in a while. The film is expected to blend comedy, confusion, and complete madness, with Shahid Kapoor reportedly paired opposite Janhvi Kapoor. If true, this would mark their first full-fledged film together after Janhvi’s cameo in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Honestly? One wrong body. Endless bad decisions. We’re listening.
Shahid Is Clearly Booked And Busy
Let’s take a second to appreciate Shahid’s current lineup. He’s shooting Farzi Season 2, recently headlined Cocktail 2, and now this comedy is reportedly next on the calendar. Safe to say… The man looked at his schedule and said, “Sleep? Never heard of her.”
Amit Sharma Knows Family Entertainers
Director Amit Ravindranath Sharma has previously delivered films like Badhaai Ho and Maidaan, balancing humour with emotional storytelling. If Adal Badal leans into his signature style while embracing the madness of a soul-swap premise, it could end up being one of Bollywood’s more refreshing commercial comedies.
One Tiny Plot Twist…
Now here’s where it gets interesting. While several reports claim Shahid is on board and filming begins in October, another report has disputed that casting and said those rumours are inaccurate. So for now, consider the project, and Shahid’s involvement, reported rather than officially confirmed. Basically…Bollywood is Bollywood-ing.
Know Buddys Take
Here’s the tea. A Shahid Kapoor comedy directed by Amit Sharma with a soul-swap storyline? On paper, that’s a pretty fun combination. But until the makers make it official, we’re treating this one like that friend who says, “I’m 100% coming,” and still hasn’t confirmed in the group chat. If it happens, though? Chaos will definitely be the main character, and honestly, we wouldn’t mind watching that.
