Ever since Dhurandhar became one of Bollywood’s biggest success stories, the film has attracted its fair share of praise, debates, and conspiracy theories. One of the most bizarre rumours? That the film’s script was somehow written or backed by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Now, actor Rakesh Bedi has finally responded to those claims, and his reaction is pure gold.

“Who In The PMO Could Write That?”

Speaking at the Amrit Ratna 2026 Summit, Rakesh Bedi dismissed the rumours with humour. Referring to one of the film’s quirky dialogues, the actor joked that nobody in the PMO could have possibly written lines like those. He laughed off the speculation, saying that no one could even think of writing such dialogues, let alone create an entire screenplay around them.

The Rumour That Refuses To Die

Since its release, Dhurandhar has been at the center of several political discussions because of its themes, geopolitical backdrop, and references to real-world events. That led some critics online to speculate that the film was politically influenced or supported. However, the makers and cast have repeatedly maintained that the film is a work of cinema inspired by historical and geopolitical events, not a government-backed project.

Rakesh Bedi Also Helped Add Humour To The Film

Interestingly, Bedi revealed that when he first read the script, he felt the narrative was extremely intense and emotionally heavy. The actor suggested adding small moments of comic relief to break the tension. According to him, director Aditya Dhar was initially hesitant, but eventually embraced some of the ideas as the film developed.

Why The Internet Keeps Talking About Dhurandhar

Few Bollywood films in recent years have generated as much conversation as Dhurandhar. Whether it’s the box office success, the political debates, the action sequences, or the performances, the franchise continues to dominate online discussions months after release.

Know Buddys Take

The internet loves a conspiracy theory. But sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one: filmmakers write films, actors perform them, and social media does the rest. Rakesh Bedi’s response is probably the funniest way possible to shut down a rumour that was already sounding a little too wild to be true.
