Veteran actor Sharmila Tagore is reportedly set to make a special cameo in Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe, adding an unexpected family connection to the upcoming spy comedy. The appearance will mark the first time Sharmila and her son-in-law Kunal Kemmu collaborate on a film.

According to reports, Sharmila Tagore will make a cameo in Vibe. The surprise appearance is particularly interesting because Kunal Kemmu is married to her daughter Soha Ali Khan, making the project their first professional collaboration.

While Sharmila has worked with members of her family before, Vibe marks the first time she will collaborate with Kunal. Interestingly, she has shared screen space with Soha only once, in the 2009 English-language family drama Life Goes On, while she played Saif Ali Khan’s mother in Eklavya.

The film marks Kunal Kemmu’s second directorial venture after Madgaon Express. This time, he not only plays the lead but has also written and directed the project. Vibe additionally marks his debut as a producer, with Kunal backing the film alongside Chirag Nihalani under their banner Drongo Films.

6. Preity Zinta adds to the spy-comedy madness

Preity Zinta plays a government official who recruits the two unlikely heroes for their mission. The teaser promises a mix of action, comedy and chaotic situations, with Kunal’s character seemingly far more interested in escaping the assignment than becoming a spy.

7. Vibe and Daayra will clash at the box office

Vibe is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 18, 2026, the same day as Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The clash has an added family angle, as Kareena is Kunal’s sister-in-law. Kareena has already joked that there is enough room for both films to succeed.
