Big news for Tamil cinema lovers. Vijay Sethupathi has officially confirmed his second collaboration with master filmmaker Mani Ratnam, and this time Sai Pallavi comes on board as the co lead. After working together in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, the duo is reuniting for what is reportedly a romantic film, though details are still tightly under wraps.
Speaking about the reunion, Vijay shared that while he has grown in stature, the hungry newcomer inside him is still alive. He recalled how all he once wanted was to stand in front of the camera and deliver his lines, and even today that feeling has not changed. That mindset, especially under Mani Ratnam’s direction, makes this project instantly exciting. Add Sai Pallavi’s emotional depth and screen presence to the mix, and you have a combo that already feels powerful.
Meanwhile, Vijay’s lineup is stacked. He will next be seen in Slum Dog 33 Temple Road directed by Puri Jagannadh. He also has Pocket Novel with Thiagarajan Kumararaja, marking their reunion after Super Deluxe. There is also a cameo in Jailer 2 starring Rajinikanth, and Arasan directed by Vetrimaaran, part of the Vada Chennai universe.
