Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam franchise may be ending one story, but the makers could already be thinking about what comes next. While Drishyam: The Conclusion is expected to bring Vijay Salgaonkar and his family’s long-running story to an end, sources have indicated that producer Kumar Mangat Pathak and director Abhishek Pathak are considering taking the franchise forward with a completely different story.

Vijay Salgaonkar’s Story Could End

The upcoming third instalment is titled Drishyam: The Conclusion, suggesting that the central storyline involving Vijay, his family and the murder cover-up will finally reach its conclusion. Ajay Devgn will return as Vijay Salgaonkar, with the film scheduled to release in theatres on October 2, 2026.

But The Franchise Could Continue

According to the latest report, the makers are discussing the possibility of continuing the Drishyam brand beyond the third film. The idea would be to move away from the existing family storyline and explore a completely different narrative rather than simply extending Vijay’s current problems.

A New Story Could Change Everything

If the plan materialises, a future Drishyam film could retain the franchise’s thriller identity while introducing a new situation and potentially a different set of characters. However, the reported idea is still in the discussion stage and there has been no official confirmation of a fourth Hindi film.

The Drishyam Name Still Has Value

The Hindi franchise has already established itself as one of Bollywood’s most successful thriller series. With Drishyam arriving in 2015 and Drishyam 2 becoming a major box-office success in 2022, the makers have strong reason to keep the brand alive even after Vijay Salgaonkar’s current story concludes.

The Malayalam Franchise Is Moving Ahead Too

Interestingly, the original Malayalam Drishyam franchise is also continuing. Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 released earlier this year, while producer Antony Perumbavoor has confirmed plans for Drishyam 4.

KnowBuddys Take

The title says “The Conclusion”, but Bollywood clearly isn’t ready to say goodbye to Drishyam just yet. If Vijay’s story ends but the franchise gets a brand-new mystery, we’re curious to see whether the makers can recreate the same obsession without relying on the Salgaonkar family.
