The OMG 2 controversy just found a new chapter. After Paresh Rawal claimed that the original idea for OMG 2 was his and that he never received proper credit, the film’s writer-director Amit Rai has finally broken his silence, and he’s not holding back.
Amit Rai Rejects Paresh Rawal’s Claims
Responding to Paresh Rawal’s viral statements, Amit Rai questioned the basis of the actor’s claims and firmly maintained that he is the sole writer of OMG 2. The director expressed disappointment over the controversy, saying he has documentary proof of the script’s development and doesn’t understand why such allegations are being made now.
What Paresh Rawal Had Claimed
Earlier, Paresh Rawal said that OMG 2 was originally based on an idea he had developed with Amit Rai years ago. According to the veteran actor, the project evolved significantly after Akshay Kumar came on board, but he believes he deserved credit for the original concept, which he says was never acknowledged.
Producer Also Defended The Film’s Credits
Amit Rai isn’t the only one pushing back. Producer Ashwin Varde also dismissed Paresh Rawal’s allegations, calling them baseless and reiterating that the screenplay and story were officially written and registered under Amit Rai’s name.

Unless new evidence surfaces, it’s impossible to say whose account is correct. One thing is certain though, OMG 2 is making headlines again, and this time, it’s not because of what’s on screen.
