Yash had a very unusual way of becoming Ravana.During the Ramayana panel at San Diego Comic Con 2026, the actor revealed that he would play loud Lord Shiva devotional songs through giant speakers before filming to help himself slip into Ravana’s intense mindset. Laughing about the experience, he admitted, “I kind of spoiled the whole atmosphere on the set.”
“I Wanted To Be In That Trance”
Explaining his preparation, Yash said the music wasn’t just background noise it was part of his process.He shared that listening to powerful Shiva chants helped him enter a trance-like state, allowing him to channel the emotional intensity and spiritual depth he wanted to bring to Ravana’s character.

Director Nitesh Tiwari also spoke about Yash’s unique ritual, recalling how the booming music would fill the set before the actor stepped in front of the camera.Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama, joked that he had heard plenty of stories about Yash’s immersive preparation and dedication to the role.
