While promoting Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Robert Pattinson surprised everyone by comparing his character Antinous to Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black from the Twilight saga. Considering Pattinson spent years trying to distance himself from the vampire franchise, fans were definitely not expecting this full-circle moment.

Speaking about Antinous, Pattinson joked that audiences might actually root for his character. Why? Because, according to him, Antinous is simply another guy trying to win over Penelope, creating a love triangle that reminded him of Twilight. He hilariously summed it up by saying it was basically: “He’s dead… get over it.” Safe to say… The Twilight fandom immediately woke up.

In The Odyssey, Antinous is one of the powerful suitors hoping to marry Penelope while Odysseus is believed to be dead after the Trojan War. So yes… Robert’s logic actually makes sense. Instead of Bella, Edward, and Jacob, it’s Penelope, Odysseus, and Antinous. Same romantic chaos. Way more swords.
