The debate around who should play Shaktimaan on the big screen is back. Mukesh Khanna, who created and played the iconic superhero, has once again explained why he does not believe Ranveer Singh is the right choice for the role.

Mukesh Khanna Wants The Right Image

Khanna believes Shaktimaan requires more than just a talented actor. According to him, the person playing the superhero must have a particular appearance and personality that reflects the character’s positive and dignified nature.

He Has Nothing Against Ranveer’s Acting

Khanna has been clear that his objection is not about Ranveer’s acting ability. He has previously praised the actor’s performances and energy, but feels that the image associated with Ranveer does not match the personality he envisions for Shaktimaan.

Khanna Says Shaktimaan Needs A Different Persona

For Khanna, the superhero needs a face that communicates innocence, decency and strength rather than mischief or unpredictability. He has argued that playing Shaktimaan is different from playing other demanding Bollywood characters because the superhero carries a specific moral identity.

He Even Suggested Ranveer For Kilwish

Interestingly, Khanna has suggested that Ranveer could potentially work better as the villain Tamraj Kilwish rather than Shaktimaan. That suggestion highlights just how differently Khanna sees Ranveer’s screen persona from the image he wants for the superhero.

The Casting Debate Continues

Ranveer Singh has long been linked with the proposed Shaktimaan film, but the casting has remained a subject of discussion. Khanna’s stance has remained consistent, while Surendra Pal, who played Tamraj Kilwish in the original series, has previously backed Ranveer as a suitable choice.

KnowBuddys Take

This casting debate has officially become its own superhero saga. Mukesh Khanna sees Shaktimaan as a character who needs a very specific moral image, while Ranveer has built his career on being almost impossible to box into one personality. The question is whether audiences want the Shaktimaan they remember or a completely new version.
