Kanikka Kapur is suddenly having a very busy inbox. The Batwara 1947 actor has been getting attention after appearing in the film’s trailer, but the buzz has also brought comparisons to Kiara Advani and confusion around her name being similar to singer Kanika Kapoor. In an exclusive conversation with Mid-Day, Kanikka addressed both.
The Batwara 1947 Trailer Changed Things
Kanikka admitted that she did not expect to receive so much attention from the trailer. With a cast that includes established names, she wasn’t even sure how much of her role would make it into the final trailer. Seeing herself featured was therefore a major moment for the actor.
The Kiara Advani Comparisons
One of the biggest conversations around Kanikka has been her resemblance to Kiara Advani. Kanikka said that she doesn’t necessarily see a strong resemblance in real life, but understands why people might make the comparison from certain angles. She pointed out that features such as her chin or forehead may remind people of Kiara.
Her Name Gets Compared Too
The comparisons don’t stop at her looks. Kanikka’s name is also frequently confused with singer Kanika Kapoor. While the names sound similar, the actor is now gradually establishing her own identity in the industry.
Batwara 1947 Has Opened New Doors
For Kanikka, the biggest takeaway from the trailer buzz has been the opportunities that followed. She revealed that she has already received several promising scripts after the trailer was released. She also has a film titled Ek Rola Kiya Hai and a web show lined up.
From Taara To Bigger Projects
Kanikka has previously appeared in the television series Taara, but Batwara 1947 could mark a much bigger step in her career. The attention surrounding the trailer appears to have given the actor considerably more visibility even before the film reaches theatres.
KnowBuddys Take
Comparisons might get you noticed, but they don’t build a career for you. Kanikka Kapur seems to be getting the kind of attention that could finally let audiences know her for her own work. The trailer opened the door; now it’s her performance that has to keep it open.
