Soha Ali Khan has shared a quick protein-rich matcha drink that she has added to her pre-workout routine. The actor, who regularly posts about fitness, said she discovered the recipe while looking for ways to include more protein in her diet.

The Recipe Takes Just Two Minutes

Soha’s drink requires just a handful of ingredients:

  • 1 tsp matcha
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • Cold water
  • A little almond or coconut milk
  • Ice
  • Vanilla essence and stevia, if desired

To prepare it, whisk the matcha with a little cold water until smooth. Add the protein powder and more water, froth the mixture, then add the remaining water, milk and ice before giving it one final froth.

Even A Matcha Skeptic Approved

Soha admitted that she was never particularly fond of matcha. However, she found that combining it with chocolate protein powder, vanilla and stevia made the drink much more enjoyable.

Her verdict? Maybe matcha and she can “be friends after all.”

A Pre-Workout Drink With Caffeine

Soha also pointed out that matcha contains caffeine, along with L-theanine and catechins/polyphenols. She advised people to be mindful of their overall caffeine intake, particularly if they are caffeine-sensitive or consume it later in the day.

KnowBuddys Take

Soha may not have been a matcha fan, but chocolate protein powder apparently changed the equation. Two minutes, a few ingredients and suddenly matcha has a new chance.
