Ameesha Patel’s Mother’s Rs 5 Lakh Diamond-Studded Bangle Stolen; Domestic Help Arrested

Ameesha Patel’s family has reportedly been hit by a jewellery theft at her mother Asha Patel’s residence in Mumbai’s Churchgate area. A diamond-studded gold bangle worth around Rs 5 lakh was allegedly stolen, following which Mumbai’s Marine Drive Police arrested a 40-year-old domestic worker.

1. Ameesha Patel’s mother reports missing jewellery

According to police, a diamond-studded gold bangle worth approximately Rs 5 lakh went missing from Asha Patel’s residence.

The jewellery was reportedly discovered missing earlier this year, with the alleged theft said to have taken place in January 2026.

2. Domestic worker came under suspicion

The police identified the accused as 40-year-old Seema Vinod Ghate, who had reportedly been working as a domestic helper at Asha Patel’s home for around one-and-a-half years.

Asha Patel reportedly suspected Ghate’s involvement and had allegedly been asking her for several months to admit to the theft and return the jewellery.

3. Complaint was eventually filed

According to reports, the bangle was not returned, following which Asha Patel approached the Marine Drive Police and lodged a complaint.

The police initially registered the case against an unidentified woman before beginning an investigation to identify the person allegedly involved.

4. Police traced the accused to Virar

The Crime Detection Team investigated the case and eventually traced Ghate to Virar.

She was taken into custody and subsequently produced before a court, which remanded her to police custody until September 15.

5. The missing bangle has not been recovered yet

While an arrest has been made, the allegedly stolen bangle has not yet been recovered.

Police are continuing their investigation to locate the jewellery and are also checking whether the accused has any previous criminal record.

6. The case involves Ameesha’s family home

The incident took place at the Churchgate residence of Ameesha Patel’s parents, rather than at a property specifically identified as Ameesha’s personal home.

Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, is the complainant in the case.

7. Ameesha Patel’s career continues

Ameesha Patel made her Bollywood debut with Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai in 2000 and went on to feature in films including Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Humraaz, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Race 2.

She returned to the spotlight in 2023 with Gadar 2, reprising her iconic role as Sakina opposite Sunny Deol. The film became her highest-grossing release.
