Salman Khan is about to enter a completely new cinematic universe. The superstar’s upcoming superhero film with director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK is reportedly set to begin filming in January 2027. The project will mark Salman’s first collaboration with the filmmakers and his first full-fledged superhero film.
Salman Is Entering The Superhero Space
The upcoming project is being described as a big-budget superhero film and is expected to combine Salman’s mass appeal with Raj & DK’s distinctive storytelling style. While the plot is being kept under wraps, the film is being developed as a large-scale theatrical entertainer.
January 2027 Is The New Timeline
Earlier reports had suggested that the film could go on floors as early as October 2026. The latest update, however, indicates that filming has now been pushed to January 2027.
Raj & DK Are Currently Busy With Farzi 2
Raj & DK are currently occupied with the final schedule of Farzi 2, starring Shahid Kapoor. Once they wrap the series, the duo will reportedly move into pre-production for Salman’s superhero film, with groundwork expected to begin around October-end.
Salman Has A Packed Schedule
Before starting the superhero project, Salman has several commitments lined up, including his untitled action film with Vamshi Paidipally and his Bigg Boss 20 hosting duties. The superhero film will therefore come after he completes these existing commitments.
The Female Lead Is Still Under Wraps
The makers have reportedly not finalised the female lead yet. Earlier speculation had linked Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the project, but reports have clarified that she is not part of the film and casting is still underway.
A Very Different Salman
Salman has spent decades playing action heroes, but a superhero role gives him an entirely new playground. With Raj & DK bringing their experience from projects such as The Family Man and Farzi, the combination could take Salman into a world audiences haven’t seen from him before.
KnowBuddys Take
Salman Khan as a superhero with Raj & DK directing? That is either going to be wildly entertaining or completely unexpected. Either way, Salman stepping into the superhero genre after all these years is enough to make this one worth watching.
