Years after one of the most intense periods of her life, Rhea Chakraborty is looking back at how people behaved around her during the Sushant Singh Rajput case. In a recent conversation with Tanmay Bhat and other comedians, the actor spoke about the way conversations would suddenly change whenever she entered a room, and how difficult it was for people to know how to react around her. Here’s what happened:
Rhea Recalls The Sudden Change In People’s Behaviour
Rhea recalled that when she would enter a group where people were laughing and joking, the atmosphere would suddenly become serious. She said people would change their tone and awkwardly ask her how she was, as if they were unsure about what they could or could not say around her.
Even Jokes Became Uncomfortable
According to Rhea, the situation was so heavy at the time that people did not know whether they were allowed to laugh or joke around her. She explained that if she herself made jokes about what she was going through, the room would suddenly become uncomfortable because people struggled to understand how she could joke about such a difficult experience.
She Also Revisited The “Imma Bounce” Controversy
During the conversation, Tanmay Bhat brought up an old controversy surrounding one of Rhea’s WhatsApp messages. Her phrase “Imma bounce” was reportedly misinterpreted by a news channel as “cheque bounce”, becoming another bizarre moment in the intense media coverage surrounding the case.
Rhea Is Now Looking Back With Humour
The conversation saw Rhea revisit some of the difficult memories with humour, alongside Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi and other comedians. While the jokes were light-hearted, Rhea also acknowledged that the experiences had been deeply difficult and that people around her were unsure how to respond at the time.
KnowBuddys Take
When a difficult chapter becomes public property, even normal conversations can start feeling complicated. Rhea choosing to look back at that period with humour shows how differently people can process the same experience years later. Sometimes, laughing about the chaos is simply another way of taking back the narrative.
