Saif Ali Khan Recalls Akshay Kumar’s Hilarious Prank On Haiwaan Sets: ‘He Stole My Watch’

Saif Ali Khan has revealed a hilarious behind-the-scenes prank played by Akshay Kumar while the two were shooting for Haiwaan. The actors, who have known each other since the 1990s, reunited for the thriller and apparently brought their old-school mischief right back to the sets.

Saif recalled how Akshay managed to steal an important prop from him his Braille watch leaving him worried about the film’s continuity before discovering that his co-star was behind the prank.

1. Saif and Akshay bring out their ‘juvenile’ sides

Talking about reuniting with Akshay, Saif said the two actors have a long history together and naturally bring out the playful side in one another.

He recalled that they were “laughing like children” for much of the shoot before switching into serious mode whenever the camera started rolling.

Their friendship goes back to films including Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Aarzoo and Tashan.

2. Akshay pulled off the perfect prank

During the shoot of Haiwaan, Akshay apparently decided to test his co-star’s alertness.

After Saif had completed an important scene, he suddenly discovered that the Braille watch he wears as part of his character’s look was missing.

Naturally, Saif immediately became concerned.

3. The missing watch became a continuity nightmare

Saif explained that the watch was important for continuity, so he couldn’t simply continue shooting without it.

He recalled wondering how the prop could have disappeared immediately after such an important scene.

The mystery, however, had a very Bollywood-style answer: Akshay had taken it. 

4. Akshay apparently stole it right after the shot

According to Saif, Akshay waited until the scene was over and then quietly took the watch.

The prank was apparently so seamless that Saif initially had no idea what had happened.

He joked that Akshay has a particular talent for this kind of mischief especially when greeting someone.

5. ‘Every time he shakes your hand, he can steal your watch’

Saif’s funniest takeaway from the incident was that Akshay could apparently pick your pocket while simply shaking your hand.

It became the perfect example of the playful dynamic the two actors share after decades of friendship.

And considering Akshay’s reputation for practical jokes, Saif’s story sounds very on-brand. 😂

6. Their reunion comes after nearly two decades

Haiwaan marks the duo’s return to the big screen after a long gap.

Their previous collaborations include Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Aarzoo and Tashan, making the latest reunion a nostalgic one for fans.

This time, however, they’re playing very different characters, with Saif portraying a visually challenged protagonist while Akshay plays the antagonist.

7. Haiwaan is finally in theatres

Directed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan released in theatres on September 11, 2026.

The film brings Saif and Akshay together in a thriller that combines their long-standing camaraderie off-screen with a much darker dynamic on-screen.
