Amitabh Bachchan Recalls Being Told To Quit Acting Because He Was Too Tall

Before becoming the towering icon of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan was apparently told that his biggest physical trait was actually a problem. The veteran actor recently recalled the criticism he faced at the beginning of his career, revealing that people told him he was too tall, knew nothing about acting and should simply go home.

During an interaction on Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh recalled being criticised for his height when he was trying to establish himself as an actor. He said people would tell him that he was “too tall” and questioned whether he knew anything about acting.

The criticism wasn’t limited to his appearance. Bachchan recalled being told to leave the profession altogether because he supposedly didn’t know how to act. For an actor who would later become one of the biggest names in Indian cinema, the early rejection sounds almost unbelievable in hindsight.
